Safety is a shared responsibility. Visitors to SELWO MARINA (hereinafter, the “Park”) are expected to exercise good judgment and to act responsibly in order to safeguard both their own health and safety and the health and safety of those under their care, especially minors, for whom they are responsible and whom they shall supervise at all times.
In this regard, visitors (i) shall READ, COMPLY WITH and RESPECT all rules, instructions, warnings and recommendations provided by our staff and (ii) shall make APPROPRIATE AND RESPONSIBLE USE of the leisure facilities and, where applicable, the safety equipment provided to them.
Each visitor undertakes to maintain civic and considerate conduct and shall be obliged to (i) treat other visitors, Park staff and the Park’s facilities with respect and (iii) preserve and respect the flora and fauna of the surrounding environment.
Visitors who, in the Park staff’s judgment, breach the rules and instructions issued by such staff and/or act irresponsibly and/or disrespectfully towards other visitors and/or staff may be removed from the Park without any right to claim any refund. Furthermore, where such visitors hold any of the season passes for leisure parks managed by GRUPO PARQUES REUNIDOS (“Bono Parques”), the measures of withdrawal or cancellation of the Bono Parques for a serious breach, or temporary withdrawal or suspension of the Bono Parques for a minor breach, may be applied, in accordance with the General Terms and Conditions of this product.
Finally, the Park reserves the right to bring such conduct to the attention of the competent authorities.
Please review the Park’s general operating rules set out below, as well as the specific guides and rules displayed at the entrance to each leisure facility.
To that end, it is also essential that visitors who have under their care persons who, either because they are minors or because they have a disability, cannot read or properly understand the rules, instructions, warnings and/or recommendations, explain them and remind them whenever necessary, without prejudice to the fact that Park staff may provide all necessary assistance. The Park makes available specific information for visitors with disabilities.
Accordingly, visitors shall act responsibly both with regard to their own health and safety and with regard to the health and safety of the persons under their care and of other persons around them.
Assess your physical and emotional condition BEFORE simply “doing it”.
The Park’s facilities may provide visitors with wonderful memories and exciting enjoyment; however, they may also constitute an adrenaline-boosting activity that places the body under strain.
THEREFORE, IT IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE THAT YOU SHALL NOT TAKE PART—NOR ALLOW ANY PERSON UNDER YOUR CARE TO TAKE PART—IN ANY RIDE OR ACTIVITY IF YOU ARE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL, ANY MEDICATION OR ANY OTHER NARCOTIC SUBSTANCE THAT MAY AFFECT HEALTH, THE SENSES, MENTAL ACUITY, REFLEXES AND COORDINATION.
YOU SHALL NOT TAKE PART—NOR ALLOW ANY PERSON UNDER YOUR CARE TO TAKE PART—IN ANY RIDE OR ACTIVITY IF YOU SUFFER FROM, HAVE SUFFERED FROM OR BELIEVE YOU SUFFER FROM ANY MEDICAL CONDITION, PRE-EXISTING HEALTH PROBLEM OR INJURY, INCLUDING—WITHOUT LIMITATION—HEART, NEUROLOGICAL, MUSCULAR, BACK, NECK, BONE, JOINT, TENDON, LIGAMENT, BRAIN, EYE OR EAR INJURY, OR ANY OTHER ILLNESS OR INJURY THAT MAY BE TRIGGERED OR AGGRAVATED BY USE OF THE PARK’S FACILITIES OR BY PARTICIPATION IN ANY ACTIVITY.
YOU SHALL ALSO REFRAIN FROM USING THE FACILITIES—SAVE WHERE OTHERWISE INDICATED—IF YOU ARE (OR SUSPECT YOU MAY BE) PREGNANT; IF YOU HAVE UNDERGONE SURGERY IN THE LAST MONTHS; OR IF YOU ARE STILL CONVALESCING OR RECOVERING FROM ANY ILLNESS, AILMENT, TREATMENT OR MEDICAL PROCEDURE. ONLY YOU MAY DETERMINE WHETHER YOU ARE PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY IN A SUITABLE CONDITION TO PARTICIPATE SAFELY IN A RIDE OR OTHER ACTIVITY.
THE PARK CANNOT GUARANTEE YOUR HEALTH—OR THAT OF THE PERSONS UNDER YOUR CARE. YOU SHALL DETERMINE THAT YOU—OR THE PERSONS UNDER YOUR CARE—ARE IN A SUITABLE STATE AND CONDITION TO USE THE PARK’S FACILITIES, AND YOU SHALL ALSO VERIFY COMPLIANCE WITH THE AGE, WEIGHT AND HEIGHT LIMITATIONS SET OUT IN THE OPERATING RULES.
REMEMBER THAT YOU ASSUME THE RISKS OF ANY ACTIVITY IN WHICH YOU CHOOSE TO PARTICIPATE. SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY DOUBT, OUR STAFF WILL BE PLEASED TO ASSIST YOU.
A) Rules and circumstances of access and use1.
- The Park’s capacity and that of its various facilities is limited.
- Access to the Park premises with bicycles, roller skates, scooters and similar items is prohibited.
- For safety reasons, access to certain facilities is restricted, whether due to age, height and/or physical condition. Please check the applicable access restrictions at the entrance of each ride/activity. You may also consult the Park’s website.
- The Park provides specific information for visitors with disabilities.
- Some facilities, restaurants, shops and/or attractions may remain closed for organizational or technical reasons, which may include maintenance, repair, upgrade and/or improvement operations, as well as for weather-related reasons that prevent or advise against opening for safety reasons or due to the rides’ own technical limitations because of rain, hail, snow, wind or temperature changes. The Park will endeavor to inform visitors as far in advance as possible via its website, official social media profiles and the Park’s information points.
- The schedule of educational talks and/or shows is for guidance only and may be changed at any time. Accordingly, the Park reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel, in whole or in part, the educational talks and/or shows scheduled, including removing, reducing or altering certain scenes, elements, acts or acrobatics, where technical, operational, safety, weather-related or other reasons, in its sole discretion, prevent or advise against holding them.
- To temporarily leave the premises, you must inform ACCESS staff before exiting, as to re-enter you must be properly identified—by stamp or by any other identification method established by the Park. Otherwise, access may be denied. Please note that, depending on the type of ticket or Bono Parques you hold, you may not be allowed to enter the premises again once you have left. Please check the terms and conditions and consult our ACCESS staff.
- All types of sales and the distribution of leaflets, flyers or products on the Park premises are prohibited, except those expressly authorized by the Park.
- The Park has duly accredited photographers who, if you wish, can take photographs of you at the entrance or during your visit. Outside these cases, visitors will be informed in advance if any additional product and/or service contracted involves taking photographs and/or videos. In all cases, photographs are solely intended as souvenirs for visitors. Photographs not purchased by the visitor will be destroyed at the end of the day and cannot be recovered. If the visitor purchases a QR code to download the photograph digitally, the photographs will be stored for a maximum of three (3) months for download and will then be destroyed, with no possibility of recovery. You can obtain more information at the photography stand, where you can view and purchase the photographs. In no case will photographs be sold to persons other than, or not related to, those appearing in the photographs. It is strictly prohibited to photograph or record the images displayed at photograph viewing and sales points. The Park is not responsible for photographs or videos that visitors may take personally during their visit, provided they are for private, domestic use and outside the Park’s control. - Please note that the Park aims for visitors to enjoy as complete a themed experience as possible and to keep the facilities in proper hygienic and clean condition; therefore, consumption of food and drink is not permitted outside the areas designated for this purpose. The dining terraces around the Park are for the exclusive use of customers who have purchased their food from any of the Park’s food outlets.
- Acess by minors under 14 years of age who are not accompanied by an adult who assumes responsibility for their custody and conduct is prohibited.
- Access to the Park premises with any pet is not permitted, except assistance animals, such as guide dogs, duly accredited in accordance with the applicable regulations.
B) Safety rules
- The sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages and tobacco by persons under 18 years of age is strictly prohibited.
- For safety reasons, the Park reserves the right for duly authorized staff to inspect backpacks, handbags, bags or other luggage in the cases and within the limits established by law. Access with glass containers or cans is not permitted, as they pose a risk to visitors’ safety.
- Visitors shall keep watch over and take care of their personal belongings, as the Park shall not be liable, for causes not attributable to the Park, its facilities or its staff, for any loss, theft, misappropriation or damage they may suffer during their stay.
- Smoking (including vaping devices and e-cigarettes) is prohibited throughout the Park premises, except in areas expressly designated for this purpose, which will be duly signposted. The Park reserves the right to remove from the premises any person who, having been required by Park staff to comply with this rule, continues to breach it.
- The use of drones in the Park is not permitted.
- The use of selfie sticks on rides is prohibited in order to guarantee visitors’ safety. The Park reserves the right to remove from the Park any person who, having been required by Park staff to comply with this rule, continues to breach it.
C) Rules on tickets and Bono Parques
- The ticket price, or, where applicable, the Bono Parques, shall only be refundable in the cases provided for under the applicable regulations.
- The Park admission ticket, or, where applicable, the corresponding Bono Parques, shall be kept for the entire duration of the stay on the premises and shall be shown to Park and/or security staff upon request. The Park reserves the right to remove from the premises any person who, while inside, does not have a valid admission ticket or, where applicable, a valid Bono Parques.
- Where the ticket includes a free companion, such companion shall enter at the same time as the ticket holder and upon the ticket holder’s first entry to the premises.
- Certain rides, services, shows, displays and/or attractions within the Park premises are not included in the ticket price. For further information, please inquire at the information point at the entrance to the premises or consult the Park’s website
D) Rules of co-existence
- For reasons of good manners and respect for others, cutting in line or holding places in line for other persons is not permitted. Please respect the line and wait your turn.
- In order for all visitors to be able to enjoy the rides, upon completion of each ride you shall leave the facility by following staff instructions via the route established for this purpose. To use the ride again, you shall rejoin the waiting line.
- Visitors shall take care of their belongings at all times and are strongly advised not to leave them unattended.
- The taking of photographs and/or videos in the Park in which conduct, gestures, clothing, symbols and/or accessories are observed that are disrespectful, obscene, unlawful, racist, xenophobic, or that in any other way infringe upon the dignity of persons, or that are inappropriate in a family and children’s leisure context, and/or that breach the Park’s operating rules, is prohibited. Likewise, the Park reserves the right not to take and/or sell photographs and/or videos in which such conduct is observed.
- The Park’s public address system is not intended for the broadcasting of personal messages.
E) Breaches
The Park reserves the right of admission and expulsion from its premises, without any right to compensation, in respect of persons who seriously contravene the rules listed. Furthermore, where such visitors hold a Bono Parques, the measures of withdrawal or cancellation of the Bono Parques for a serious breach, or temporary withdrawal or suspension of the Bono Parques for a minor breach, may be applied, in accordance with the General Terms and Conditions of this product.
Likewise, and without prejudice to the foregoing, the Park in particular reserves the right to refuse admission to or to expel from its premises persons who seriously contravene the rules set out below or who fall within any of the following situations:
- Serious disturbance of public order in the Park or its facilities, or the commission therein of any crime or minor offense.
- Failure to comply with the rules for use and safety of the facilities or with the instructions given by Park staff in this regard.
- Improper use of tickets or Bono Parques (including fraudulent, deceptive or bad-faith use by the holder and/or their resale or counterfeiting). Only tickets purchased at authorized points of sale shall be valid.
- Bathing in fountains or water points that are not suitable for such purpose.
- Committing acts of vandalism or causing damage to the facilities and/or animals on the premises or to the belongings of its employees.
- Conduct that inconveniences or seriously affects the enjoyment of other visitors and/or employees.
- Leaving minors and persons with disabilities under their care unattended, especially if they engage in the conduct described in the preceding sections.
- It shall be considered especially serious to leave unattended minors and persons with disabilities who cannot swim in attractions intended for bathing.
- Consumption, sale or distribution of any type of drug or narcotic substance within the Park premises. The Park shall immediately remove any person who breaches this rule and shall notify the competent authorities accordingly.
- Persons who show clear signs of being intoxicated or any other circumstance from which it may reasonably be inferred that they may disturb public order or citizens’ peace and quiet.
- Failure to follow Park staff instructions or the rules of use established for rides, where this may put at risk the physical integrity of the user themself or of third parties.
Additionally, and in accordance with the applicable regulations, Selwo Marina has the following specific conditions of admission approved by the Benalmádena City Council:
- This establishment has a maximum capacity of 3,000 persons.
- The minimum age to access this establishment without the company of an adult is 14 years.
- Selwo Marina reserves the right of admission and expulsion from its premises in respect of those persons who contravene the rules set out below or who fall within any of the following situations:
- Where capacity is full.
- Visitors who, having accessed the interior of this establishment, do not present their ticket when required by Park staff.
- Where the person seeking entry, or who is inside, displays violent attitudes, in particular where they behave aggressively or provoke disturbances with other persons and even with animals or plants.
- Where the person seeking entry carries weapons or objects liable to be used as such, save where, in accordance with the applicable specific regulations in force from time to time, they are members of the security forces and bodies or private bodyguards integrated in registered private security companies and access the establishment in the performance of their duties.
- Where attendees wear clothing or symbols that incite violence, racism or xenophobia.
- Where the person or persons seek to access areas closed to the public, potentially causing damage thereto or to the animals housed therein.
- Where the person seeking entry, or who is inside, creates dangerous situations or nuisances for other attendees or does not meet hygiene conditions. In particular, entry (or, where applicable, remaining inside) shall be prevented for those consuming drugs, narcotic or psychotropic substances, or who show symptoms of having consumed them, and those who show signs or behaviors clearly indicating intoxication and/or who create dangerous situations or nuisances for the animals.
- Where the person seeking entry, or who is inside, does not comply with the safety and hygiene rules regarding the use of face masks and social distancing set out in the Park’s safety protocols.
The following conduct is not permitted in this establishment:
- Access by persons accompanied by animals is not permitted, except persons accompanied by duly accredited assistance dogs in accordance with the applicable regulations.
- Smoking is not permitted except in the areas established for this purpose.
- In order to preserve hygiene, good manners and respect in the Park, the torso shall be covered.
- The use of photographic cameras, video cameras or sound recorders is not permitted except in authorized places and never for commercial purposes.
