The Arizona Cypress is a tree from the Cupressaceae family. A medium sized perennial with a conical canopy it grows to heights of between ten and twenty five meters. The trunk can reach a diameter of fifty centimetres and the foliage is grey-green or blue-green. The bark is smooth and reddish-grey and sheds in vertical layers.
It is native to the south east and southern USA and North Mexico. In its wild state it grows in small, scattered colonies, not in large woods.
Despite its rapid growth, the Arizona Cypress is a very long-lived tree which can last for a couple of centuries.
