The Red-eyed Tree Frog is a medium-sized tree frog. Females measure up to 77 mm and males reach 59 mm. They can be found in Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Panama. It is the most famous frog in Costa Rica. They nest in plants near waterways, so that when hatching occurs, thetadpoles fall directly into the water, although they are capable of living out of water for up to 20 hours.
