The Corydora is a species that is closely related to the corydora aeneus and, in fact, is often sold as such. It has a similar colouring to the aeneus, but with a golden line running from its head to its caudal fin. The golden line is more or less luminous, depending on the individuals and their mood.

The Corydoras' colours are natural and are not caused by artificial dyes, as is sometimes believed. It is an omnivorous fish.
