La Hondonada (The Hollow) is the area dedicated to our Exotic Birds Exhibition, originating from one of the most legendary and colourful lands of South America, the Amazon.
This rustic setting has an exhibition area and terracing that looks like a lost place found in any corner of the Brazilian or Venezuelan jungle. The Exotic Birds Exhibition at La Hondonada provides the visitor with the opportunity to see the magnificent flights of different and colourful exotic birds such as white cockatoo, red and green macaw, military macaw and blue-yellow macaw, just as they would do in their natural habitat, and other birds originating from closer to home, although not for that any less surprising, such as peacocks or chickens.
A solid wood gateway similar to those used to cross the many rivers of the heart of South America, takes visitors to a new area of the park. This space is divided over two levels: the upper part is a diaphanous area in which children can play and underneath, a children’s playground that simulates a small jungle with different level platforms and a “swing-hut” where the pusher has just as much fun as the child being pushed! And while the children have fun and feel like the “kings” of this “jungle”, the parents can make a welcome stop on the expedition to enjoy a refreshment, an ice-cream… at the Cabaña de Las Delicias, catering outlet located next to this area.
